Dr Frank Bonfils-Persson

In 1976 Dr Frank Harry Bonfils-Persson matriculated from Vaal High School, Vanderbijlpark. Not long after, in 1982, he received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) with majors in Biochemistry and Physiology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Shortly after, in 1986, Dr Bonfils-Persson attained his Medical Degree from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Initially, he wanted to specialise in plastic surgery and underwent training as a surgical registrar for just over two years under Professor Myburg at the Wits University Medical School. Between 1992 and 1998, he chose to branch off into general practice in Pinetown, Durban. In 1999, he decided to specialise in clinical radiation oncology, and in 2004, he completed his master’s degree in medicine (M.MED Rad (Onc). Two years before, in 2002, Dr Bonfils-Persson received his Fellowship from the College of Medicine South Africa (F.C. Rad (Onc)).
