ABOUT
Kerry Acheson holds a Masters (Cum Laude) in Psychology from Rhodes University and is a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (PS0106321). Kerry has an interest in the field of positive psychology, and this led her to do her Masters dissertation on the phenomenon of posttraumatic growth. Kerry completed her internship at the Rhodes University Counselling Centre, where she provided psychotherapy to students. Kerry is also a qualified school teacher, and has experience teaching psychology and counselling learners, both locally and in the UK. Kerry has conducted therapeutic groups in a children’s home, and has facilitated workshops with teachers on stress management and childhood bereavement and trauma. Kerry is also contracted to Careways, and able to assist in their Employee Wellness Programmes. Kerry draws eclectically from a range of therapeutic modalities in order to suit the unique needs of each individual.
