ABOUT
Dr Vanlierde did both his undergraduate and post graduate studies at Cape Town University Medical School and Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, before furthering his studies in Edinburgh, Scotland and Canada, where he spent 9 years in specialist private practice.
Although covering all aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions, his special interests are cosmetic and functional nasal surgery, in which he has trained extensively overseas, snoring problems and voice related problems.
He is fully licensed as a specialist both in the United Kingdom and South Africa, and is the current secretary of SAFAARS, the South African Academy of Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. He holds a part time Consultant appointment at Groote Schuur Hospital in the department of Otolaryngology, runs the Voice Clinic and is a member of the Society of South African Rhinoplasty Surgeons in Cape Town. As of recently, Dr Vanlierde has attended the European Laryngological Society Meeting in London, the Annual Meeting of South African ENT Society in Cape Town and the Inaugural Meeting of Laryngology Society of South Africa.
