ABOUT
FamGen Counselling is a Genomic Counselling practice that connects patients, doctors, genetics laboratories and genomics researchers with trained genetic counsellors across South Africa. Counselling services include premarital, prenatal, hereditary and cancer genetic counselling. We help individuals, couples and families that are diagnosed or at risk of any genetic condition to understand, cope with and make the best decisions around that particular condition.

- We help individuals and their families to understand and cope with genetic conditions; select the most appropriate testing strategy for timely diagnosis and treatment of rare and common genetic conditions. - We provide training and education to other healthcare professionals in the field of genomics for optimal test referral and clinical management. - We provide counselling services on behalf of laboratories who perform genetic testing; provide patients access to free, advanced genomic testing through research - We collaborate and aid researchers in the patient recruitment, consenting, and reporting process.
