Services includes :

  • General Paediatrics
Dr Böcking treats the full range of paediatric concerns, from common colds to paediatric neurodevelopment. During a general check-up, Dr Böcking focuses on the physical, emotion and cognitive development and growth from infancy to childhood. He will do a head-to-toe assessment of your child and address any concerns. Dr Böcking focuses on parental education, giving immunisation advice, and advice on growth, nutrition, sleep patterns, behaviour, habits, parenting styles, and discipline. He helps parents get a sense of precisely what their child is and will be going through.
  • Asthma, lung function & lung flow test
Asthma is a common condition in children as multiple aero-irritants can trigger their sensitive airways. The inflammation, swelling, and tightening of the airways to the lungs are due to a trigger, making airflow in and out of the lungs difficult. Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, tightness of the chest and difficulty breathing. These symptoms can be mistaken for a cold, but if their signs appear after exposure to certain animals, dust, pollens, or exercises, asthma is most likely. To diagnose, Dr Böcking may suggest a lung function test, a lung flows test and an allergy test (skin prick test).
  • Bladder infections
Bladder infections or urinary tract infections are common in children, but the symptoms can vary significantly from adults' symptoms. Minor infections can become severe and cause kidney damage if left untreated. Dr Böcking will do a simple urine test to see whether an infection is present. It is easily treatable with antibiotics once diagnosed. He can assist in preventing future infections and teach your child good hygiene.
  • Colds, flu, and chest infections
Colds, flu, and chest infections are common in children. Simple coughs can develop into serious infections such as pneumonia or bronchitis, the most common infections caused by bacteria or viruses. Treatment of respiratory and chest infections will vary based on the requirements of a specific child. In contrast, bacterial infections are treated with decongesting medications and antibiotics, and viral chest infections may require hospitalisation. Influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations are recommended to protect against chest infections. Other immunisations may also be beneficial to help prevent your child from getting fatal infections from various diseases.
  • Developmental problems
Paediatricians will play an essential role in making sure your child is developing at the right pace. Dr Böcking will assess your child's cognitive and physical growth and development during a general wellness check-up. Dr Böcking will assess whether there are child development issues or not.
  • Ear, nose, and throat
The ear, nose, and throat (ENT) are not yet fully developed in a child, and therefore infections, sinusitis, sore throats, and runny noses are common problems. These areas can be aggravated by viruses and bacteria, resulting in more frequent infections. Testing for allergies and assessing your child with Dr Böcking will help you manage these infections.
  • Fever
Fevers occur when the bodies temperature is raised above the average level. If a child's temperature is above 38 degrees Celsius, they are presenting with a fever. A fever is an indication of the body fighting an infection, but it can also be a sign of something more serious. Fevers are often the result of viral infections but can be brought on by medications, disorders and severe conditions that could require Dr Böcking's expertise.
  • Gastroenteritis, diarrhoea & constipation
Dr Böcking can evaluate your child and treat them as necessary for any gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhoea and constipation. If necessary, he will also be able to refer you to a specialist gastroenterologist. Chronic diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach flu often leads to emergency care as high fevers and dehydration occur. Dr Böcking pays close attention to your children's excretion habits and may test for allergies and the presence of lactose or gluten intolerance.
  • Growth and nutrition
Food choices and a diet can influence a child's growth and their future health and relationship with food in the future. In the first five years of life, children's growth goes beyond height and weight. Bones grow in length, density, and in number, organs develop at different paces, muscles develop, and glands secrete essential hormones from childhood into development. Dr Böcking can determine whether your child's growth and nutrition are on track and assist where shortfalls are.
  • Neurodevelopment
Your child's brain development can impact their learning abilities, behaviours, and social performance. Certain developmental stages are confronted during growth, and a child learns to adapt emotionally and intellectually. It is essential to monitor neurodevelopmental changes to rule out neurological conditions and neurodevelopmental delays. Dr Böcking will assess for learning or neurodevelopmental disabilities like dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD and ADD). He will also monitor mental illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
  • Rashes & skin conditions
Dr Böcking will do a comprehensive assessment of your child's skin during check-ups. Common skin conditions in babies and young children include nappy rash, heat rash, cradle cap, acne, skin allergies, infectious skin conditions and eczema. Dr Bocking will not only treat your child but will find the cause and best management routine for them.
