Dr Shikar Mothilal

Dr Shikar Mothilal matriculated with six distinctions and was accepted in medical schools across the country. He decided to pursue undergraduate training close to his home town of Durban at the University of Kwazulu-Natal where he received the Deans commendation each year and was awarded a certificate of merit. He qualified cum laude from his undergraduate training. He subsequently relocated to Cape Town and did his internship at Tygerberg hospital where he fell in love with the discipline of internal medicine after being inspired by his experiences as an intern which involved problem solving and thinking broadly.

He then did his community service at the Military and was offered a post as a medical officer. Here he gained insight into the discipline and strategic workings of the military healthcare system. He began his illustrious post graduate career at the University of Cape Town where he worked as a registrar in internal medicine gaining expertise across all aspects of general medicine.
